Nurse booked for accidentally chopping off tip of newborn’s thumb at Vellore hospital

The nurse was removing paediatric venflon from the baby’s hand when she mistakenly cut off the tip of its right thumb; the baby was then taken to the Government Stanley Hospital in Chennai where doctors performed surgery; Vellore Collector has ordered an inquiry into the incident
