In 1976, K.V. Mathew of B.I. Publications formed a body of booksellers and publishers. The next year, he conducted the first edition of the Madras Book Fair through Booksellers and Publishers Association of South India (BAPASI). Ever since, Chennai Book Fair, as it is called, is a much-anticipated event, though the venue has changed over the years
