Tamil Nadu government decides not to extend Rosewood Conservation Act

Initially passed for 15 years in 1995, the Act was renewed in 2010 for another 15-year period to prevent the illegal felling and trade of the trees. However, the government has decided that continuing the Act is no longer necessary
