Weddings, interrupted

Incidents of violence have been reported from pockets of Uttar Pradesh against Dalit families for holding wedding processions. In most cases, people from upper caste communities have objected to a baraat, a man getting on a horse to go to his bride, or a DJ playing music. Samridhi Tewari reports on how Dalits are using weddings as a form of resistance
