With nine airports, Karnataka is ranked third among States in terms of the total number of passengers who travel by air after Delhi and Maharashtra. A contributor to the bulk of it is Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport, but airports in the State’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities have evolved in the last few years.
