‘Kalpvasis’ brave chill, austerity in search of spiritual salvation at Maha Kumbh

It is considered auspicious to perform at least 12 Kalpvas. The rituals begin with the devotees’ arrival at the Sangam where they set up their temporary tents. This is the maiden step in this spiritual journey, says Rohini Jha
